I'm...uh...Reyna, if you've forgotten.
That's a picture of what I currently look like if you've forgotten. There's something quite surprising that I have to tell you....I'm not dead. I know, big shock! But being completely real - I'm so sorry. I've been MIA, I've gone ghost, I just disappeared. So, the truth. I'm not going to tell you a bunch of excuses like my dog ate my phone(I can't even think of a good one 😂). The reason I haven't posted in months is quite simple and is relevant in all of our lives. School and time management.
Now let me tell you, I am the queen of the inappropriate use of time. I'll go throughout my day acting as if I've scheduled out time for things, but truthfully I'm winging it. I know I have to do x, y, and z, but ya know q seems like the best thing to do right now. I never get to do q because I'm so worried about getting the rest of the alphabet done. It's okay. I'll do q now and then later I'll get 'er other relatives done.
Uh, no. Dear, that's not how life works. There'll be things in this world that seem more appealing, but you have to choose what you need to do. Which means, I had to start prioritizing. Unfortunately this blog(and the connected YouTube channel) aren't on the top of my priority list. Even when time wasn't an issue technical things were. Okay so I own a computer. It's a pretty decent Toshiba. Okay so it doesn't have a genuine Windows on it and it's pretty slow, but that's a lot more than other people have. That computer is awesome for updating blog posts...when I'm at home. Yes, I'm homeschooled - the name sort of implies that I school at home. Contrary to that whole definition my family has a life like any normal one. My dad works, my mom has a cleaning business, the twins play sports and we like to go out into the real world.
This means I'm pulled away from that glorious Toshiba and forced to post from my phone. Now us Millennials and Gen X or whatever know what the older generation thinks about us and our phones. From me saying that you can probably imagine what I'm about to say. I get stares - lots actually - as I try to conjure up a blog post. I don't know about you, but(I'm feeling 22) stares are quite distractive to the creative process. Not to mention family members saying things as well.
This allllll adds up to me being on my phone more. I mean, let's be honest I'm on my phone quite a bit already texting people and trying to have somewhat of a presence on Instagram. Add a somewhat mandatory blog post to the mix and you'd think I was paid for trying out the new iPhone. Unfortunately that's not the case and I'm not getting paid at all.
Long story short:I have other things in my life. I'd love to have a normal updating schedule, but as we've seen 'that ain't happening'. I absolutely love writing and I want a career in it, but as I'm working towards that career I actually have to do the schooling and enjoy other aspects of my life.
So, here's to longer and more family inclusive posts. I've entered into the world of makeup and would love to write about that. So, Modest. Boho. Life. is now not only a fashion blog, but a makeup and lifestyle one as well. I look forward to the posts I serve up in the future!
